Cloud and Datacenter Administrator

About The Position

WEKA is a modern data platform for a wide range of emerging and demanding workloads. These high-performance workloads require modern capabilities, such as the ability to run natively in the public cloud while supporting any performance requirements that these emerging markets demand and being flexible enough to run on a very wide range of hardware. At WEKA, you’ll join a highly collaborative team that focuses on delivering unique capabilities to some of the world's largest companies pushing the boundaries of technology.

WEKA is looking for a Cloud and Datacenter administrator that will be responsible for managing WEKAs Physical and Cloud Environments in support our technical field teams as they work with our customers providing demos and evaluations.

In your career have you had to wear many hats, figure things out on the fly, learn new technologies and how they work, and have found creative ways to automate those environments? If you have and are looking for the next step in your journey joining a fast growing company that’s disrupting the industry, we would love to hear from you. In this role you’ll leverage all of those skills and many others you’ll learn along the way to manage WEKAs field and support lab environments both on premises and in the cloud. This is an important role at WEKA that will enable us to scale, and continue to deliver POCs and top notch support experiences to our customers.

In this role, you’ll work directly with our presales, and post sales engineers helping them to create and automate test, demo and POC environments that replicate those of our customers. You’ll be challenged to learn new technologies including Cloud environments across all of the major cloud vendors, and be a part of working with some of the worlds most well known companies that are pushing the boundaries within their industries using WEKA.

This is a very dynamic role, in a fast paced customer focused environment. Willing to research and explore new technologies, learn them on the fly, and be creative around solving challenges is a must!

The successful Cloud and Datacenter administrator at WEKA will be focused on:

  • Managing lab gear inventory including servers, switches, cables, network cards, etc
  • Datacenter capacity planning in our colo including forecasting growth
  • Perform operating system and account administration for local and remote systems including installation, administration, and problem analysis
  • Tracking usage and cost of both Cloud lab environments and physical colo
  • Technical troubleshooting of issues across servers, networking, weka, and cloud environments
  • Participating in evaluation and purchasing and adoption of new technologies for our cloud and lab environments
  • Automation of our demo environments both in the cloud and on-prem
  • Creating and managing a system for checking out lab equipment used for onsite POCs or booking equipment in the lab
  • Getting equipment prepared for customer focused activity including POCs and Demos

In order to successfully operate in this role candidates should have the following experience:

  1. Experience with one or more of the Public Cloud offerings (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI)
  2. Experience managing datacenter equipment in a small datacenter or colo
  3. Knowledge of devops, automation and deployment tools
  4. Good understanding of data center networking
  5. Knowledge on containerized infrastructure
  6. Strong knowledge of server platforms from one or more of the major server vendors
  7. Knowledge of Infiniband is a plus
  8. Scripting experience is a plus
