Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager, China
About The Position
Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager, APJ (China-based)
WEKA is the AI data and memory infrastructure company transforming how organizations build, run, and scale AI. NeuralMesh™ combines high-performance data storage and extended GPU memory in a single software platform, providing a foundation for training, inference, and agentic AI workloads that maximizes GPU productivity, accelerates AI outcomes, and improves the economics of AI at scale.
WEKA is a pre-IPO, growth-stage company backed by world-class venture capital investors and AI infrastructure leaders. Our technology is trusted by 30% of the Fortune 50, as well as leading hyperscalers, neoclouds, AI builders, and research organizations. Our team is customer-obsessed, accountable, bold, and collaborative, with a shared focus on helping customers succeed. If we sound like your kind of people, join us!
About The Role
WEKA is seeking a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager, based in mainland China, to build awareness, understanding, and technical preference for NeuralMesh across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). You'll focus on the AI model builders, internet platforms, AI cloud providers, and enterprises that drive demand for large GPU environments. Greater China is the center of gravity: the architecture choices made there shape AI infrastructure deployed across Southeast Asia, Japan, and the rest of the world.
This is a hands-on technical product marketing role, not a traditional field or events marketing position. You'll be WEKA's regional technical voice. You'll localize HQ content for APJ markets, create region-specific content, run technical workshops, support validation with regional server vendors and partners, and bring what you learn from local engineering teams back to Product. Our regional sales teams and Field CTO lead customer relationships; you'll give them the technical story, content, and proof that make those relationships count.
Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing, with a dotted line to WEKA's Taipei-based Field CTO and the CTO Office, you'll work closely with APJ sales, Field Marketing, Product, Engineering, Technical PMM, and Alliances. You'll also work with partners including server vendors, ODMs, and AI cloud providers across the region.
Who We're Looking For
You're a technologist who loves to explain. You have enough depth in AI infrastructure to hold your own with ML infrastructure engineers at leading model builders: large-scale training and checkpointing, inference serving, KV cache and GPU memory, and high-performance storage and networking. Your background might be in solutions engineering, product management, developer relations, or technical marketing. What matters is that you understand how the architecture works and can explain why it matters.
You're a strong bilingual writer and presenter in Mandarin and English. You can take an English benchmark report and turn it into content that reads as if it were written for local engineers, and you can create original content when regional needs differ from HQ's. You know how engineers in China discover and evaluate technology through WeChat, Zhihu, Xiaohongshu, and technical media. You're equally comfortable adapting content and programs for Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, India, and ANZ, working with local teams and agencies where other languages are needed.
You also know that influence with engineering teams is built one relationship at a time. The region's most sophisticated AI teams trust peers and evidence, not campaigns. You earn that trust with credible technical content, useful workshops, and candid engagement, and you measure success by whether architects seek WEKA out.
What You'll Be Working On
- Regional Technical Content: Localize HQ content, including benchmarks, reference architectures, solution briefs, blogs, and customer stories, for APJ audiences. Author Mandarin content directly, and manage agency and in-country partners for Japanese, Korean, and other languages.
- Region-Specific Content: Create original content for regional needs, such as benchmark series by model family, inference cost and TCO analyses, and technical deep dives on long-context inference, KV cache, and large-scale checkpointing. Take ownership of flagship assets produced with agency partners once they're delivered.
- Technical Evangelism: Be WEKA's public technical voice in APJ through meetups, community programs, seminars, conference talks, webinars, and technical media, with a primary focus on Greater China.
- Workshops & Field Support: Develop and co-deliver architecture workshops and technical sessions with the Field CTO and APJ sales teams. Build the presentations, competitive materials, and playbooks the regional field uses, including plays for AI cloud providers evaluating multitenant storage.
- Follow the Decision Across the Region: Connect influence built with Greater China engineering teams to the AI cloud and neocloud builds they shape in Southeast Asia, Japan, and beyond, through joint content, showcases, and technical events with regional AI cloud partners.
- Always-On Channels: Own and grow WEKA's Chinese-language presence across WeChat, Zhihu, Xiaohongshu, and technical media, including KOL relationships and search visibility. Support regional teams in adapting channel strategy for other APJ markets.
- Customer Stories & Announcements: Work with marketing and account teams to turn regional wins, partner validations, and certifications into localized case studies and trade press coverage across APJ.
- Server Vendor & Ecosystem Validation: Support validation, certification, and reference architectures with regional server vendors, ODMs, and accelerator ecosystems, then bring those results to market.
- Voice of the Region: Capture requirements from APJ engineering teams, including workloads, silicon, deployment models, sovereignty and compliance needs, and integrations. Bring them to Product and Engineering as structured, prioritized feedback, and serve as the technical bridge between APJ and HQ.
- Market & Competitive Insight: Track regional AI infrastructure trends, model and silicon roadmaps, and competitive activity across APJ, and share insights with Compete PMM, Product, and regional leadership.
- Measure Impact: Track content reach and engagement by market, local-language search presence, inbound architect contacts, workshop attendance and repeat engagement, certifications published and covered, field use of content and playbooks, and contribution to influenced pipeline and wins across APJ.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in technical product marketing, solutions engineering or architecture, product management, developer relations, or technical evangelism in enterprise infrastructure.
- Hands-on technical depth in AI/ML infrastructure, including GPU clusters, distributed training and checkpointing, inference serving frameworks (such as vLLM, SGLang, or TensorRT-LLM), KV cache and GPU memory, and high-performance storage and networking.
- Familiarity with parallel file systems, object storage, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Native-level Mandarin and professional working English, with the ability to write and present technical content in both. Japanese or Korean is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience personally creating technical content such as blogs, benchmark write-ups, reference architectures, presentations, or workshop materials.
- Experience presenting to deeply technical audiences through workshops, meetups, or conference sessions.
- Strong understanding of China's AI ecosystem, including model builders, internet platforms, AI clouds, server vendors, and accelerator vendors, plus working knowledge of the broader APJ AI infrastructure landscape. Existing relationships in these communities are a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of Chinese technical media and social channels, including WeChat, Zhihu, Xiaohongshu, and KOL networks.
- Experience supporting multiple countries or markets from a regional role, including working with in-country teams or localization agencies.
- Experience with server vendor or ODM validation and certification programs is a plus.
- Proven ability to work across time zones with HQ product, engineering, and marketing teams, and to turn their input into high-quality regional deliverables.
- Ability to operate as a hands-on individual contributor on a small regional team, with high autonomy and sound judgment.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Located in Shanghai or Beijing, China, with the ability to travel up to 30% across APJ.
