What’s Cool About This Job

WEKA is seeking a dynamic and strategic Social Media & Community Engagement Manager to lead and elevate our organic social media presence (brand and employee advocacy), oversee our YouTube approach, and ensure WEKA remains at the forefront of emerging online platforms and digital watering holes within the tech community. This role is pivotal in amplifying WEKA’s brand voice, fostering meaningful engagement with our audiences, and building out a vibrant online community of advocates, customers, and industry influencers.

As video consumption continues to skyrocket, the Social Media & Community Engagement Manager is also responsible for owning and maintaining WEKA’s YouTube page in collaboration with other internal Marketing partners. This individual will develop a cohesive YouTube strategy fueled by a steady stream of optimized videos to showcase WEKA’s data platform, thought leadership, customer stories, and culture - all in an effort to maximize visibility, discoverability, and grow channel subscriptions.

Bring Your Expertise – and Your Passion

The ideal candidate is a social media expert with a strong editorial mindset, capable of identifying and capitalizing on engagement opportunities while ensuring alignment with WEKA’s brand voice, messaging and campaign initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with our content marketing, PR, and digital marketing teams to deliver high impact messages and content that engages our target accounts and enterprise audiences, drives traffic to WEKA’s owned channels and events to increase prospectingand deal velocity. Additionally, the individual will provide data-driven content recommendations and maintain a regular cadence of performance reporting to inform social, content, and campaign strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, schedule, and manage organic social media posts for our LinkedIn and X accounts, ensuring alignment with campaign and brand objectives.
  • Create compelling, high-quality content that drives engagement and delivers against defined marketing goals.
  • Routinely monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and social media platform updates/trends to inform campaign and content strategy.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency between organic social media content and other broader digital marketing efforts.
  • Manage WEKA’s employee social media advocacy program, equipping employees with social-ready shareable content to enhance brand visibility and foster engagement.
  • Oversee and manage WEKA’s YouTube page, including planning and coordinating new video content with marketing teams and SMEs/thought leaders.
  • Regularly identify and evaluate emerging social platforms and online communities relevant to WEKA’s mission and audience within the tech ecosystem (e.g., Discord, Reddit, LinkedIn Groups, Facebook Groups, Slack groups, or others).
  • Attend select industry events in person to capture and share real-time social media coverage (at times, including video), ensuring timely and engaging content from key sessions, speakers, and networking opportunities.
  • Provide employee training, resources, and ongoing support to increase understanding and encourage appropriate social media adoption.
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities, responding to interactions in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
  • Escalate and collaborate on responses to critical brand mentions or conversations as needed.
  • Analyze organic social media performance metrics and provide regular reporting on engagement, reach, and content impact. Use the data insights to recommend optimizations for content strategy and posting cadence.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine messaging and adjust strategy based on performance trends.

Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in social media editorial management, content strategy, or digital marketing - additional creative writing or journalism experience a plus.â—Ź
  • Deep understanding of LinkedIn and X algorithms and features, engagement best practices, and emerging platform trends.
  • Proven experience developing and executing high-impact social media content aligned with brand voice and objectives.
  • Experience using popular task management tools (Asana, Adobe Workfront, etc.) for planning and coordinating social media content.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate social data into actionable insights.
  • Experience supporting employee or executive social media advocacy - via platforms like Bamboo/Sprout or Sprinklr - is a plus.
  • Experience working with graphic design tools (Figma, Canva, etc.) to iterate on creative and customize standardized image templates for use on social media.
  • Experience working with videos, including managing YouTube pages, optimizing metadata for increased performance, and producing other quick-turn TikTok-like videos for social.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across marketing and digital teams.
  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Sprinklr, Hootsuite) and web analytics platforms to measure social traffic impact.
