WEKA is seeking a hands-on Lab and DevOps Team Lead to drive our infrastructure testing environments. Leading a team of engineers, you'll architect and manage lab operations, high-performance networking, and infrastructure automation to support WEKA's cutting-edge storage platform. This role offers an exciting opportunity to blend technical leadership with hands-on lab management, ensuring optimal testing environments for our enterprise-grade storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of DevOps engineers and Lab engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship
- Design and implement networking architecture and deployment strategies for lab environments
- Oversee lab resource management including hardware allocation, maintenance, and lifecycle management
- Manage lab operations and coordinate resource sharing between R&D teams
- Define and implement infrastructure monitoring strategies using modern observability tools
- Ensure efficient operation of test environments and hardware qualification processes
- Drive infrastructure modernization initiatives and best practices adoption
- Establish and maintain documentation for lab processes, infrastructure, and operational procedures
- Lead capacity planning and resource allocation for lab environments
- Manage network configurations and ensure optimal connectivity across lab infrastructure
Required Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in Lab Operations, DevOps, System Administration, or similar technical roles
- 3+ years of team leadership or management experience
- Strong expertise in network infrastructure and lab environment management
- Experience managing lab resources and hardware inventory (300-500 servers)
- Experience in scripting languages (Python, Bash)
- Experience with monitoring solutions (e.g., Zabbix, Grafana)
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, K8s)
- Proven track record of managing complex networking environments
- Demonstrated ability to optimize lab resource utilization and allocation
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in storage industry or high-performance computing environments
- Familiarity with inventory management
- Knowledge of identity management solutions (Active Directory, LDAP)
- Experience with hardware lifecycle management and lab equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and troubleshooting
- Relevant certifications in systems administration or networking
- Experience working in fast-paced R&D environments
