About The Position

WekaIO is the world’s fastest file system for AI and Technical Compute workloads.

WekaIO is the fastest distributed parallel filesystem on the planet, providing faster time to epoch for AI/ML jobs as well as the ability to burst the workload to the cloud or across data centers. Using our unique approach to data distribution and protection across servers

WekaIO clusters can scale to thousands of servers or installed in a converged fashion on the existing computer servers.

The team is composed of storage professionals that have years of experience in storage and in related data-center technologies making sure that we can technically be able to help our customer achieve the optimal solutions.

About the position:

The Chicago area Sales Engineer will join our growing field sales organization. Being a WekaIO Sales Engineer will require you to assess customers’ needs and requirements for the various existing or future technologies across data-centers or cloud environment as to allow customers to leverage the performance that the WekaIO system can provide in order to accelerate and fully unleash their performance potential.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Meet with customers or partners to educate them on the technical aspects of the product
  • Query and understand customer needs to be able to design an optimal solution
  • Feedback customer requirements to the product management team to influence the future product capabilities
  • Technically work with customers on try and buy opportunities
  • Become a technical adviser to your customers and periodically review their status and inform on possible improvements
  • Become an SME in vertical and/or horizontal technologies to help the other team members when required
  • This is a Hands-on position

Please note that this is a remote position, working out from your home in the Chicago area


  • Presentation skills - build and deliver technical product and architecture presentations and demos
  • Extensive filesystems system background - Experience with NFS and distributed parallel file systems
  • Strong Linux OS knowledge
  • Datacenter networking understanding
  • Experience with performance demonstrations and analysis
  • Prior experience in working at a start up company - an advantage
  • Experience with cloud environments and concepts - an advantage
  • Scripting abilities –an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
